The North Quadrant Marketplace (NQM) operates Monday through Friday (excluding major holidays and UK bank holidays).  We have a cutoff time of 8pm GMT.  When orders are placed before our cutoff time they will -- barring any unexpected event -- be shipped out the next business day.

In rare cases we become so busy that we are unable to get an order out even if it was placed before our cutoff time.  We always service all orders based on the order in which they were placed, and we strive to NEVER take more than 1 additional business day to get your order shipped.

All orders are shipped from the UK.  We currently ship to the UK, USA, Switzerland, and all EU and EEA member countries.  We use only reputable and established freight carriers to ship all orders.  All shipments will be tracked and we will email you with your tracking information once the order ships.

We cannot be held responsible for any Customs delays or issues that you may experience in your respective country.  It is the customer's sole responsibility to exercise due diligence with respect to their local Customs agencies and relevant laws.  In the event that Customs does not clear an order, if the order is returned to us we will issue a partial refund (minus 15% restocking fee).  If Customs does not return the order to us for any reason we will be unable to issue any refund for the order.

We ship using the proper tariff codes which should require no import or Customs duties, however any Customs office may decide for any reason to adjust the tariff codes we use.  Any Customs duties or taxes, import permits, clearance issues, quarantine or storage charge, and any other charges, taxes or fees are the sole responsibility of the customer.

PLEASE NOTE:  Orders must be signed for to verify accurate delivery, and to help us keep shrinkage to a minimum.  If you are not going to be around to sign, please make arrangements with the carrier to either pick up the shipment at a local branch, or for a delivery at a date when you will be available to sign.  We will not be held responsible for missed deliveries or shipments returned to us.

All sales are final, however, in some instances we may accept returns from customers and issue a full or a partial refund.  Refunds will be issued back to the same card or with the same payment method that was used to make the purchase.

In order to make a return, please contact us within 5 business days of receiving the order.

You will need to state the order number, and the reason for the return.  Upon review of the situation and pending follow up questions, if we find that a return is warranted we will issue you an RMA Number and advise you of the estimated amount of refund that you will receive.

You will be responsible for shipping the order back to us at your own expense.

Upon receipt and inspection of the order we will issue the refund and notify you that we have done so.  We will also notify you of any adjustments to the refund amount per our inspection of the returned order.

Merchandise must be in the same condition and quantity as what we shipped to you, and if it is not this will be grounds to not issue a refund.

We will always charge a 15% restocking fee for returns that are not due to defective merchandise.

Defective merchandise will qualify for a full refund or a replacement order being shipped to the customer, depending on the customer's wishes and product availability.

Due to the nature of our products, we do not consider an order to be "defective" if a relatively small percentage of the order is slightly spoiled or damaged, although we make every effort to ensure the best quality product is shipped every time.


The NQM never shares any of your personal information with third parties, except as where needed to in order to conduct business.  For example, data is transmitted between our website and our secure payment gateway strictly as necessary in order to process payments.  Furthermore, we never have access to -- nor do we store -- your full credit card information.  This website is entirely secure, as are all transactions processed through this site.

Additionally, we will never sell any customer's contact information to any third party.

Customer Account FAQ

Q: I lost my password!  Can you change it for me?    A: We are unable to change your password for you, but after clicking the Sign In link, you can click Forgot password? to send yourself a password reset email.  This link expires after 24 hours.

Q: I have a new email address.  How can I change the email address on my account?    A: It is not possible to change the email address associated with your account.  You can create a new account using your updated email address.

Q: Can you at the NQM edit the saved information in our account?    A: No. Only you can edit your saved shipping addresses and payment information.

Q: Is anyone at the NQM able to view the billing information in my account?    A: No, we are never exposed to your full card information.  We can see some information such as your billing address (even if you do not create an account), but your card information is processed securely and protected by our payment gateway company.  They are a certified PCI Service Provider Level 1, which is the most secure level of certification available to any firm in the payments industry.  This site is also PCI compliant, and with a valid SSL certificate.

Q: Can I check out without an account?    A: Yes, you can checkout without an account, as a guest.

Q: Do you ever give special offers or discounts to registered accounts?    A: Yes, we will be creating special offers from time to time that are only sent to customers that have an account with us.  So register your account today!


The products offered on this website, or by Old World Trading Company Limited are intended for decorative or ornamental use only.  We will not answer any inquiries regarding or suggesting inappropriate use of any of our merchandise, and such inquiries can be construed as cause to deny orders.

Ordering from this website constitutes agreement with and acceptance of these terms and conditions and releases Old World Trading Company Limited, its owners, managers, subsidiaries, parent companies, and affiliates from any and all liability.

We reserve the right to change our pricing and policies without notice.  We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.


By placing an order through this website, the customer enters into an Agreement to Purchase with the Old World Trading Company Limited (known on this website as the North Quadrant Marketplace, or NQM).

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law.

Each party agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
